Our story

Amici Southgate was created from a simple promise: to give North London the feeling of a small Italian town, without ever leaving the neighbourhood. The family behind Amici grew up between busy London streets and summers spent in Italian kitchens, where meals were long, loud and full of laughter. They wanted to bring that same energy to Southgate: generous plates, the smell of fresh coffee, and a place where the staff know your name.

From day one, the focus has been on honest, comforting Italian food. The menu is built around fresh ingredients, classic recipes and a few modern touches. Handmade-style pasta, slow-cooked sauces, thin, crisp pizzas and generous sharing dishes are all cooked with the mindset that every plate should feel like it came from a friend’s kitchen, not a factory.

The name Amici means “friends”, and that word guides everything. Families come in for weekend lunches, couples share a bottle of wine over dinner, and locals drop by for an espresso or a quick bowl of pasta after work. Regulars often say they feel like they are coming back to a familiar living room rather than a formal restaurant.

Located in the heart of Southgate, Amici is proud to be a true neighbourhood spot. The team supports local suppliers where possible and welcomes birthdays, anniversaries and every little moment worth celebrating. Whether you are visiting for the first time or returning for your favourite dish, the goal is always the same: warm service, real Italian flavours and the feeling that you are among friends. That is the story of Amici Southgate and the spirit that fills the restaurant every day.
